Think twice when you buy the branded Reebok shoes

Most of us have been rarely deprived of the luxuries let alone basic necessities. Do we really think before buying a chocolate say a Rs5 dairy milk. I would say most of us would never even think about it...we would just go buy and eat the chocolate....

However, there is a segment of society or children who actually think before buying a chocolate. They actually think that the Rs5 would help them buy a pencil or an eraser...How many times we spend money without even thinking twice...especially on the New trendy Reebok shoes (Min cost Rs5,000) that your friend is wearing....on the cadbury chocolates, hersheyy chocolates, etc, etc..The list goes on and on.....

So shouldn't we start thinking before we spend money lavishly on luxury items...where a Rs5,000 could actually help sponsor 10, tenth std kids fully pay up for their fees and practical exam fees...Imagine what yeoman service we would be doing.....

  1. Yeah right, lets not spend money, bank will give the poors money anyways, thats what banks do, lend to poors.

If you care about the poor, earn a lot and then spend all your money. Thats healthy.

Charity is equally stupid. Let people earn, don't kill the economy, buy earn spend.

  3. Hi Jazz,

its disheartening when we see poverty around and at the same time people spending carelessly on products whose cost price is ~20-30% of the Selling price. Think about it... isn't it the basic of nature-"Survival of fittest"?

    2. If we want to move towards being a Superpower, we need capitalism. For capitalism we need spending, and spending depends on person's psychology too. The example which u gave is Reebok. Same can be applied to Mercedes also. So do u mean we should only manufacture NANO's. People want differentiation. And with differentiation-people are in turn able to find great jobs, which helps in driving economic growth.

    3. If we just become savings economy our fortune would end up like Japan. At one time Japan had one of the highest savings rate, and see the fate today. They are not out of deflation since late 90's.

So there should be balance. At one end we need shoes of Lakhani and other we also need shoes like Reebok!
